Floor Slab (EPS Void Formers)

Lightweight permanent shuttering and void fillers for concrete slabs — less concrete, lighter structures.

Building collapse is not something we pray for while setting up a structure, but notwithstanding it seems to be a trend of late, not just within the country. Factors responsible for these collapses are both natural and manmade; while that of nature cannot be totally predicted, one can take certain measures to reduce human factors on the issue.

Polystyrene (EPS) blocks play a vital role in the area of saving buildings from collapse. They are widely used in the areas of construction; ranging from road, rail, and building construction. It has no structural value, but then again is very necessary for the purpose of thermal insulation and void filling when pouring concrete slabs.

Due to the light weight structure of EPS blocks, less concrete beams would be used; thus reducing the weight of the entire structure as compared to the case of a normal concrete slab.

EPS blocks are a cost effective method of permanent shuttering; they have no negative impact on the environment as they can be recycled.

  • Better acoustic and thermal properties, reducing energy consumption which in turn saves money.
  • Cost effective compared to concrete and cement blocks.
  • Easier and quicker to handle and install, requiring less propping — reducing the amount of concrete used.
  • EPS blocks are resistant to vibration, aging and rot.
